미국의 싱어송라이터 Charlie Puth는 Adele의 'Someone Like You', Bruno Mars의 'When I Was Your Man' 등의 커버를 유튜브에 올리며 유명세를 얻고 피아노를 전공해 버클리 음대를 장학생으로 졸업한 재원이기도 하다. 데뷔 전 이미 Trey Songz, Jason Derulo, Lil Wayne, Meghan Trainor, Fergie, Stevie Wonder에게 곡을 준 재능 있는 작곡가로 먼저 알려졌다.

영화 "분노의 질주: 더 세븐"의 OST이자 배우 폴 워커 추모곡인 'See You Again'으로 2016 "그래미 어워드" 올해의 노래, 최우수 팝 듀오/그룹 퍼포먼스, 최우수 영화 주제가 작곡 부문과 "골든 글로브" 주제가 부문에 노미네이트되기도 했다.
