Michael Jackson의 아버지 조셉은 자녀 다섯 형제로 '잭슨 파이브'라는 화려한 어린이 스타 그룹을 만들었는데, 마이클은 다섯 형제 중 제일 어렸으나 재능이 가장 뛰어났다. Michael Jackson은 첫 솔로 앨범 "오프 더 월" (1979)은 그 해 베스트셀러 앨범이 되었다. 이후 "빌리진(billie jean)", "빗 잇(Beat It)" 등이 히트하며 1984년에 이르러 '팝의 제왕'으로 인정받았다. 2009년 컴백 공연을 준비하던 중 심장마비 증세로 사망했다.
