캐나다 싱어송라이터 Avril Lavigne(에이브릴 라빈)은 2007년, 세 번째 작품인 [The Best Damn Thing]을 발매했고, 발랄하고 신나는 펑크 팝 요소를 전면에 내세운 'Girlfriend'가 차트 1위를 차지하며 인기를 이어갔다.

 

개인사로 인한 공백기로 4년 만에 선보인 4집 [Goodbye Lullaby]는 Avril Lavigne의 앨범들 중 가장 차분한 분위기의 작품이다. 이 앨범에는 전 남편인 Deryck Whibley와 작업한 곡도 수록되어 있으며, 그 외에 Max Martin과 같은 대중적인 프로듀서의 곡도 담겨 있다.
