캐나다의 싱어송라이터 Daniel Caesar (다니엘 시저)는 2014년 EP [Praise Break]와 싱글 'Violet'으로 데뷔해 특유의 따뜻하고 몽글몽글한 분위기의 선율로 주목받았고, 롤링스톤지에서 20 Best R&B Albums of 2014 중 하나로 손꼽히며 R&B계의 신예로 떠올랐다.

 

2017년 8월에는 첫 정규 앨범 [Freudian]을 발표, 더 다양한 비유와 암시를 사용하며 진일보했다. 이 앨범은 빌보드 앨범 차트 25위에 올랐으며, "제60회 그래미 어워드" 최우수 R&B 앨범 부분에 노미네이트되는 성과를 보였다.
