New Hope Club-Getting Better
뉴 호프 클럽(New Hope Club)은 기타와 브릿팝 사운드를 중심으로 활동하는 영국 출신 밴드로 리스 비비(Reece Bibby), 블레이크 리처드슨(Blake Richardson), 조지 스미스(George Smith)가 소속되어 있다.
이들은 영국에 있는 동네 펍에서 연주를 하며 활동을 시작했고 이제는 월드 투어를 하는 아티스트로 거듭났다. 2019년 첫 단독 월드 투어를 시작했으며, 한국, 북미, 동남아시아, 유럽, 영국을 다니며 성공적으로 투어를 마쳤다.
탄탄한 팬덤을 보유한 뉴 호프 클럽은 2020년 2월 데뷔 앨범 [New Hope Club]을 발매했으며 영국 앨범 차트 5위에 올랐다. 2020년 팬데믹으로 인해 데뷔 앨범을 위한 투어는 하지 못했지만, 이 기간 동안 뉴 호프 클럽은 밴드 결성 5년 만에 처음으로 밴드가 나아갈 방향성과 아티스트로서의 목적에 대해 깊이 생각하는 시간을 가졌다.
뉴 호프 클럽은 새 정규 앨범 발매에 앞서 올 6월부터 새로운 음악들을 선보일 예정이다. 특히 블레이크가 대부분의 새로운 곡들의 프로덕션에 참여했으며, 멤버들 모두 곡 작업에 참여해 작사 작곡가로서, 또한 뮤지션으로서 대성장한 걸 느낄 수 있을 것이다.
