한일문화교류 프로젝트 Masashi Nukata X 윤석철 [Through The Lines]

 

일본 문화청 주관의 동아시아 문화교류사업으로 시작된 앨범 [Through The Lines]는 일본 밴드 동경염국(東京塩麹)의 리더 Masashi Nukata와 한국 아티스트 윤석철이 함께한 컬래버레이션 앨범이다.

2022년 1월부터 3월까지 약 3개월 간 Masashi Nukata와 윤석철은 직접적인 대면 없이 온라인 혹은 원격으로, 서로의 데모 음원과 작업 데이터를 주고 받는 형식으로 공동 작업을 진행했다. 뿐만 아니라 각국의 일상적이고도 특징적인 모습들을 영상과 사진들로 서로에게 공유하고 교류하며 다양한 음악적 영감을 주고 받기도 했다.

특히 일본 아티스트 ermhoi가 작사와 가창으로 참여한 타이틀 곡 'Through The Lines (feat. ermhoi)'는 국적을 초월해 맺게 된 인연을 일상의 다양한 소재들로 표현하며 본 프로젝트의 의미를 보다 잘 드러내고 있다.
