Suzy (수지)-Cape

수지 Digital Single ‘Cape’ 수지가 디지털 싱글 음원 ‘Cape’를 발매한다. 이번 싱글은 지난 2월 발매했던 ‘Satellite’ 이후 약 7개월 만에 발매하는 신보로 수지가 직접 작사/작곡에 참여한 곡이며, 그동안 발매했던 수지의 음원들과는 또다른 색다른 매력을 느낄 수 있을 것이다.

 

‘Cape’는 수지의 자작곡으로 포크 성향의 몽환적이고 서정적인 멜로디가 돋보이는 곡이다. 밴드사운드와 일렉기타 위주의 편곡이지만 어쿠스틱한 느낌이 살아있는 곡이다. 보컬 역시 기존의 수지의 곡과는 뚜렷하게 차별이 되는 곡으로 넓은 음역대의 곡을 안정적으로 소화하여 보컬리스트로서의 수지의 역량을 다시 한번 보여주고 있다.

수지는 “Cape의 ‘내 두 팔이 너의 망토가 되게 해달라’ 등의 가사는 완벽하진 않더라도 언제나 너의 편이 되어주겠다는 뜻을 담고 있다. 그것의 대상은 어떤 타인이 될 수도 있고 결국엔 자기 자신에게 향할 수도 있다. 충분하지 않더라도 자기 자신을 사랑하는 소소한 위로의 곡이 되기를 바란다.”고 소개했다.

이번 신보는 ‘Satellite’을 함께 작업한 프로듀서 강현민과의 두 번째 작품으로 강현민은 일기예보, 러브홀릭 등의 리더이자, 국내 최고의 뮤지션들의 수많은 앨범에 프로듀서로 참여해 명곡들을 탄생시켰다.
